Cost Of A New Geothermal System

The geo systems are the systems that are used to provide heating to homes/buildings. These systems are also used to produce electricity. These systems have great potential in terms of cost savings and provide a pollution free means of heating. The initial cost of the geothermal system depends on many things. It varies greatly in accordance with the geology, size of the geo thermal system, local labor rates, the quality of equipment selected. Generally these systems are tougher to install and costlier initially as compared to the air source heat pumps.
The equipment costs can be almost 50-100% more expensive for a geo thermal heat pump when the circulating pump, indoor piping, and water source heat pumps are considered. Generally the ground loop of the geo thermal system is the most expensive component. The rates of installing the ground loops also depend a lot on the drilling conditions and local labor rates. Overall there a high possibility of one paying something around 4000 to 11000 dollars more for a three ton geo thermal heating plant than as compared to a similar air source heat pump. Though these systems are quite costly initially, they prove to be very economical under a longer run.

These systems offer high efficiency and very low running costs. The geothermal heat systems are known to save almost 30 to 60 percent on heating and 20 to 50 percent on cooling costs when compared to the traditional methods. In addition to these various savings in terms of running costs provided by the geo thermal heating system it also has various other advantages to offer. The liquid antifreeze used as a heat transfer agent is non toxic, on polluting and is usually a bio degradable substance. The piping is made up such materials and is designed in such a manner so as to withstand high temperatures. Usually the complete building or a complete section of the building is taken care of by the geo thermal system that is cooling or heating is provided not just too single rooms as in the case of other heating/ cooling options hence there is uniformity in heating or cooling which provides for a fluctuation free effect. Since no fossil fuels are burnt in the case of geo thermal systems there are no emissions of harmful gases such as carbon monoxide.

The out door air conditioners produce a lot of noise when they are operating, there is no such noise in the geo thermal systems. The geo thermal systems are also used to produce electricity in over 20 countries like Japan , china, Russia , the united states, Philippines, Italy , France, new Zealand , Mexico , Nicaragua , Iceland ,Indonesia , Costa Rica. The capacity of these plants could be enough to provide electricity to complete city/towns. These plants work 24 hours a day and provide continuous supply of electricity. As in other cases the initial cost is high but it proves to very economical under a long run. There is no hindrance in producing electricity from external agents such as weather.

What Is Geothermal Energy

By James Bratley
Geothermal energy is a Greek term used to described the heating of the earth. There are two main sources of this heating of the earth. The correct source for geothermal energy is the earths core, where temperatures are estimated to be between 3000 and 5000 degrees Celsius. The source for the variant of geothermal energy is the sun, where the suns rays heat the first few meters of the land, and then this energy is lost at night.

Space For Air Conditioning Window Units Should Be Planned Ahead

By David Patullo
The most common types of air conditioners are air conditioning window units. Everyone is familiar with these appliances from the way they protrude out of the walls of a house and often have plastic tubes where water from the air conditioner is exuded. Air conditioning window units come in many sizes and cooling capacities. The newer models are manufactured to run quietly.
